Six long years

Well Dais it has been six long years since you left us and we miss you. Dad misses his nurses and I miss you great hunger. Still remember the first day we got you and you ran from the kitchen all the way up the hall and grabbed the ham of my salad. Seems that memory is my favourite. We were going to call you Miss Piggy. Hoping you have the others for company and have stopped hissing at them. See you one day precious girl. Mum

In Loving Memory…

When I left this world without you,
I know it made you blue.
Your tears fell so freely,
I watched, so I know that it’s true.

While you were weeping,
days after I had passed away,
while all was silent within me,
I saw you kneel to pray.

From this wonderful place called Heaven,
where all my pain is gone.
I send a gentle breeze to whisper;
“My loved ones … Please go on!”

Precious Friend

The irresistable cat always
finds a way to your heart.
Stepping softly, cats go where
they please,
and please wherever they go.

They come to your side,
like shadows in the night.
Hugging your legs, following
you from room to room,
for a chance to cuddle on your lap.

Cats are individualistic by nature,
sometimes defiantly aloof,
mysteriously methodical,
while captivating our hearts with their
unique personalities.

They have an uncanny instinct to
create a special moment, fill it with
quiet grace and appropriate playfulness.
Seeking solitude, they ponder their
lives in sun-filled windows, cosy chairs,
and soft laps, where they find the
perfect place to nap.

Cats are noisy little alarm clocks
when meals are late,
but surely you’ll agree,
that cats are just great!

Their tongues feel rough to our skin,
but their licks are soothing to our souls.
When all other friends desert,
the cat remains as our constant,
loving companion.

♥ `*•.¸ 19th DECEMBER 2009 ♥ `*•.¸

The tree’s prettily dressed,
the pressies beautifully wrapped...
The hymns are being sung,
and your energies completely
sapped!

But somehow there always seems
time for the sadness, that lies deep
within your heart;
for a cat that was loved, but now lost;
and now you’re far apart.

A stocking is missing,
that held toys and a treat.
A lap is now empty,
also, the space at your feet.

Don't dwell on the reason,
Daisy's no longer with you.
But cherish the wonderful memories,
and treasure them your whole life through.

When God created kitty cats …

When God created kitty cats,
He had no recipe;
He knew He wanted something sweet,
as sweet, as sweet could be.

He started out with sugar,
adding just a trace of spice;
Then stirred in drops of morning dew,
to keep them fresh and nice.

He made them into acrobats,
and gave them grace and poise;
Their wide-eyed curiosity,
He took from little boys.

He put whiskers on their faces,
gave them tiny ears for caps;
Then shaped their little bodies,
to snugly fit on laps.

When one jumped up upon His lap,
God gently stroked its head;
The cat gave Him a kitty kiss,
"What wondrous love," God said.

God smiled at His accomplishment,
so pleased with His creation;
And said, with pride, as He sat back,
"At last. . .I've reached ‘purr-fection’!"

~ Lend Me A Kitten ~

I will lend to you, for a while,
a kitten, God said.
For you to love, while she lives,
and mourn, when she's dead.

Maybe for twelve, or fourteen years,
or maybe two, or three.
But will you, 'till I call her back,
take care of her for me?

She'll bring her charms to gladden you,
and should her stay be brief,
you'll always have her memories,
as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise she will stay,
since all from earth return.
But there are lessons taught below,
I want this kitten to learn.

I've looked the whole world over,
in search of teachers true,
And from the folk that crowds life's land,
I have chosen you.

Now will you give her all your love,
nor think the labor vain?
Nor hate me when I come to take,
my kitten home again?

And my heart replied,
"My Lord, Thy Will Be Done."
For all the joys this kitten brings,
the risk of grief I'll run.

I'll shelter her with tenderness,
I'll love her while I may.
And for the happiness that I've known,
forever grateful stay.

But should you call her back,
much sooner than I planned,
I'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
and try to understand.

If by my love I've managed,
your wishes to achieve,
in memory of her sweet, sweet love,
please help me while I grieve.

When my cherished kitten,
departs this world of strife,
Please send yet another needing soul,
for me to love all her life.
